What is edge computing: https://searchdatacenter.techtarget.com/definition/edge-computing
Edge computing is vital for the advancement of 5G and IoT — but why? And what is it? Watch to find out.
Edge computing refers to computing as close to the source of data as possible — at the edge of a network — instead of far away in the cloud or another data center. Edge computing is often compared to cloud computing; edge computing makes it so data has less distance to travel, and more places to travel to, while cloud computing involves data traveling longer distances to be processed in one central location.
Edge computing reduces response time and lag, conserves network resources, and enables 5G connectivity, among other benefits.
